The
Aditya Birla Group's cement production at 237.41 lakh mt in
April to February 2005 is up by 5.15 per cent over the corresponding
period last year. Grasim's cement production stood at 121.17
lakh mt and UltraTech's at 116.24 lakh mt .
The Aditya
Birla Group's cement production at 22.25 lakh mt in February
2005, is 0.79 per cent ahead of Feb '04. Grasim's cement production
was 10.98 lakh mt and UltraTech's at 11.27 lakh mt.
The Aditya
Birla Group's cement dispatches at 236.79 lakh mt in April
to February 2005 rose by 4.94 per cent while clinker dispatches
at 28.09 lakh mt, were 2.72 per cent lower over the comparable
year.
Grasim's
cement recorded dispatches at 121.23 lakh mt and clinker dispatches
at 2.67 lakh mt. UltraTech cement reported dispatches at 115.56
lakh mt and clinker dispatches at 25.42 lakh MT in April to
February 2005.
The Aditya
Birla Group's cement dispatches at 21.84 lakh mt in February
2005, is a shade 0.93 per cent lower vis-a-vis last year.
Grasim's
cement dispatches were to the tune of 10.89 lak mt and clinker
dispatches at 0.38 lakh mt. UltraTech cement dispatches were
at 10.95 lakh mt and clinker dispatches at 1.15 lakh mt in
February 2005.
The
low growth in dispatches was mainly due to the poor offtake
in the northern region attributed to bad weather. Moreover,
last year's base was high.
