Growth is both the path to progress and the driving force behind self-respect

The Unnati Project, an initiative by the Vilayat Unit of Grasim Industries, aims to improve the lives of underprivileged women in the 12 villages surrounding the Vilayat factory in Gujarat.  It is designed to help women support themselves, become independent, and live a dignified life.

The initiative was launched during the Festival of Manufacturing and saw the participation of more than 250 women. Unnati is a carefully planned effort to help women become self-reliant and develop a sense of self-worth. The project will offer training and skill development programs to enable women to access better livelihood opportunities and build a brighter future.   In addition to this, the Unit will also extend its support by engaging these women to produce employee uniforms and other products, thereby creating a sustainable source of income for them.

Shiksha Sahay Yojana

Shiksha Sahay Yojana

Our CSR projects are carried out under the aegis of the Aditya Birla Centre for Community Initiatives and Rural Development, with Mrs. Rajashree Birla as the Chairperson.

Our vision stated by Mrs. Rajashree Birla is to actively contribute to the social and economic development of the communities in which we operate. In doing so, build a better, sustainable way of life for the weaker sections of society and raise the country's human development index.

Since the inception of the Shiksha Sahay Yojana in 2015 at Grasim's Vilayat unit, over 1,000 girls who were at the risk of dropping out of school after primary education have been provided with financial assistance to pursue secondary and upper secondary education.

Thanks to this initiative, many of these girls are now enrolled in regular schooling and professional programmes like Chartered Accountancy and have gone on to become successful professionals in various fields, including nursing and others. During the recent Festival of Manufacturing celebrations, the annual scholarship was distributed to the eligible recipients, continuing the tradition of supporting education and encouraging academic excellence.
